Hey Gamers!
Dashie here, I had a day off today so I decided to beat Dead Space 3. If you read my introduction you'll remember that Dead Space 2 is my favorite game at the moment. This being said, it was only natural that I would wait for Dead Space 3 to come out and play it. I bought it when it first came out, but was just able to beat it today because I had started playing other games in between so I wouldn't feel so rushed playing it. There are 3 things that I'm going to go over, graphics, story, and scares.
So let's begin with graphics. Graphics are always something I enjoy and I can't really say I have any complaints with this one. Everything seemed smooth as butter, unless you enjoy eating unsmooth butter, and overall the environments amazed me. I've heard rumors that graphics may appear different depending on the system you play it on, but I could never really see the difference. At certain points, things would go blurry or things seemed kinda choppy, but these occasions would never last long and would smooth out as fast as it happened.
Story is one of the most important parts of any game and I've always enjoyed the story behind Dead Space. Dead Space 3 continued to be an enjoyment to me. I don't want to spoil to much for you guys, but I always enjoy when the main character was a badass in the game before and continues to be a badass in the following game. Issac Clarke and Ellie return in Dead Space 3 and we find out much has happened between them. The story still circles around the Markers and Issac Clarke trying to stop it. While not everyone may agree with me, I found the story to be similar to prior Dead Space games and that is what made me enjoy it.
Now for the most important part, scares. The original Dead Space was the only game where I had to stop playing and take deep breathes at parts because I was so scared. Dead Space 2 was scary as well, so we all expected Dead Space 3 to be as scary if not scarier right? Wrong. Dead Space 3 was the least scary game of the trio. Don't get me wrong, you still get that feeling of uneasiness when playing that you got in the prior games, but the scares were far to little. I personally believe they tried to make this game more about the action than anything else, and there is nothing wrong with that. I enjoy killing stuff as much as the next guy, but the scares are what I was really looking forward to. The few times this game did scare me made me feel that they developers were at least trying to make it scary.
So overall I loved this game. I felt that the story and graphics were good enough to make up for the lack of scares in the game. I do hope however that if they create another Dead Space game, they bring back the scares that we know and love. Hope everyone enjoyed. Dashie out.
