The DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 called, "Revolution" has been out for awhile now and after playing it for quite a bit of time I am ready to give a review.
The DLC is priced at $15 and you can find it on the Playstation store.
When you purchase and download it you gain access to, a new weapon, four new multiplayer maps, a new zombie map, and a new zombie game mode.
First, I will start with the new weapon called, the Peacekeeper. It is a new Sub Machine Gun(SMG) that isn't that bad at all. In some circumstances it doesn't even feel like a SMG because of the accuracy at medium to long range, and the easy to control recoil. It isn't my favorite gun, but it is a nice one.
The next thing I would like to cover are the four new multiplayer maps; Downhill, Mirage, Hydro, and Grind.
Downhill is a snowy map that is at a ski resort. This map is my favorite of all four of them and it seems to be the biggest as well.On one side you have the ski shop that leads to the middle and this area is more close quarters, but the main action seems to be on the outside where the cover is hiding behind rocks and some of the one room buildings on the corners. In the middle of the area is a stretch of ground that has no cover at all. Kinda like a no man's land because you will be picked off. Assault rifles seem to fit well with this map.
The next map is Mirage. A sand storm had went through and covered certain things up, like for example a car, and it has built up so much in some areas you can run up it to a second floor window. The sand for some reasons gives it a different vibe than the rest of the maps, which is a good thing. Most of the action seems to take place in the middle of the map which is a circular room of some sort with ways it from four different areas.
Hydro is another map and I didn't like this one at first but it has grown on me since. I really love the layout of this map. It is a hydroelectric plant with a system that flushes water out and kills anyone who's down in the lower level. But by taking that risk you can use it to get on the other side of your opponents and catch them from behind and the can do they same to you as well so watch your back. Not a lot of people use it since that's not where the action is, but if you don't mind taking a little longer to get a double kill or even a triple kill then try that route out a little more.
The last map is Grind. The map is in a skate park... Sounds cool right? Wrong! This map and me do not get along. I was looking forward to this map the most, but it is horrible. I don't like the layout of the map at all. I wish I could like it but I just can't.
The only thing left to talk about is Zombies. There is always a new zombie map, but this time around they threw in a new game mode as well. The new game mode is called, "Turned" . With the four players you all start out as zombies and when the round starts you have to look for the soda to start out as human. Well when that happens the three other zombies find you and kill you. The zombie that kills you is then turned into the human and the three hunt him down as well. That goes on until the time limit is up. It is very fast paced and you are lucky to be a human 20 seconds, but it is fun when playing with your friends. It will cause some laughs and it is different than the normal zombies, and less stressful. The new map is Die Rise, it is a skyscraper full of zombies. Just like normal zombies, its just now you can walk of the edge of the building and fall to your death.
To wrap this review up all I want to say is, if you enjoy Black Ops 2 and your on the fence of buying this or not I say go ahead and get it. Them majority of the maps are really nice, and the new weapon is good as well. Everyone loves a new zombie map and the game mode is icing on the cake. I am not disappointed in this DLC and if your a fan of the game it will only add more to it.
Thanks for reading this everybody and I hope it was to some use to you. If you have any questions ask me in the comment section or email me at alexdur94@hotmail.com
